Brief description of the project:
The project aims to address gender-based violence (GBV) and sexual violence in Irbid governorate through the implementation of a comprehensive and effective multisectoral approach. This project brings together various services to address violence and its impact on women and girls. By providing GBV services.
Context of the project:
This project is part of a joint partnership between AWO and Alianza organization. Through this partnership, AWO has the opportunity to expand its efforts in Jordan to address the set-back of gender-based violence and provide gender-resilient services, including in Irbid. AWO provide GBV service in its centers located in the north of Jordan, the services offer livelihood-enhancing interventions for women who visit the centers.
This project aims to provide psycho-social support, awareness raising sessions, legal support, sewing trainings in order to address GBV. AWO designed the project in order to guarantee sustainability and the application of the highest national and international quality standards, as the project provided capacity building trainings for AWO service providers on strategies and mechanisms to improve GBV protection and prevention response for AWO service provision.
