The Euro-med Feminist Initiative (EFI-IFE) with members of a coalition of nine women’s rights organizations in Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia launched a three-year regional project entitled “Combating Violence against Women in the Southern Mediterranean Region”, funded by European Union. The overall objective of the project is to contribute to eliminating all forms of violence against women and girls in the southern Mediterranean region, by promoting a social environment that does not tolerate violence against women and girls, where decision-makers address it as a political priority.
The project also aims to achieve the required change and goals through the application of a comprehensive and integrated approach to combat violence against women and girls, through a combination of increased awareness and advocacy for dialogue and the organization of high-level policy dialogues.
