The project implemented meaningful pilot projects in selected pilot sites at oasis level that reduced water demand which impacted positively on ground water. As importantly, it was demonstrated how an effective gender-sensitive planning and management relationship can be developed and sustained between a local community, CBO and other stakeholders for improved water resource management and basin restoration through empowering the different user groups, with focus on women and youth, in the local communities to participate in the decision making process concerning their water resources or at least to be heard from the local government when distributing the services and allocating projects and resources in the area.
